Orthodontic treatment by a dentist has become more common with products like customised digital braces and Invisalign™. Our orthodontic treatments include:
- Invisalign™ - Invisalign™ uses clear aligner technology to straighten teeth. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign™ aligners can be removed to eat and drink, although they work in the same way as bracing, that is, they exert subtle force on teeth to move them into position.
- Traditional braces - Traditional braces are fixed to teeth for the duration of treatment. At Dapto Family Dental, we use braces metal or clear brackets that are connected by metal archwires.
- Clear braces - Clear braces are another alternative for straightening teeth. Made from ceramic or porcelain, clear braces work in a very similar way to traditional braces, but aren’t as noticeable.

If your children are visiting us for regular hygiene treatment, we can advise the ideal time to commence treatment. New patients can book an appointment at which an assessment of your child’s needs can be made. We encourage parents with children from eight years to book in specifically to receive this assessment to prevent avoidable issues developing into more future problems that are more complex and expensive to fix. In terms of cost, eligible parents can use funds from the Child Dental Benefits Schedule to cover some orthodontic costs, and depending on the level of cover, private health fund members may receive a rebate for fees. Orthodontic treatment for adults

As with treatment for children and teenagers, treatment times vary depending on your needs and goals. Treatment for purely aesthetic purposes typically takes less time than treatment addressing more complex issues.
